The Out of Africa Campaign, a Heritage Lottery Funded project seeks to collate and conserve the cultural and sporting heritage of individuals and communities in the United Kingdom.
This project focuses specifically on the role that football from Africa has played in transforming professional football in Britain, raising the aspirations of young people from African heritage and supporting football in tackling racism in football. Out of Africa will showcase an Inspirational Documentary, a Timeline Website, a Resource Pack for Schools and a Touring Exhibition.
"This is a great campaign which showcases the contribution of African players to British football. The fact that it helps children and also makes a stand against racism is pleasing and vitally important too." - Cheick Tiote
The heritage we are looking to conserve is a combination of:

Peoples memories and experiences. Histories of people and communities.

Histories of places and events significant to African players since 1864.

Existing and new collections of documents, films in museums and archives.
